When using in VR "map follow aircraft" option it has very big impact on performance. This is mostly noticeable using what I would call "aerodrome taxi maps", so a map that will move a lot because it covers such small area. Here is a link to a flight plan I made with lots of maps great to check out the problem using Airport Taxi map in EPWA. Flight plan from EPWA to EPGD. drive.google.com/file/d/1GVZTEz93FN10U5S4bx-6ayYhihmFEqoV/view?usp=sharingTo reproduce start taxing with Airport Taxi map (I use VR), you should quickly see how much performance is going down. It is not the end of the world what I do is TURN OFF the "map follow aircraft" (make sure the little aircraft icon is NOT RED) and performance is back to normal, so now the map is stationary and only the little aircraft icon moves around the map. That is the only solution for now that I can see. If you were to use one of the SID or STAR maps you will not notice an issue as the map covers a large area and does not need to update (move) that often hence not impacting performance. Maybe there is an option or maybe one could be added or default change so that "map follow aircraft" is off by default, or maybe some code update to make it better . I think it might be similar to what someone was experiencing with "low FPS with grabbed maps" couple topic down. Like I said I do not see much difference when using large area maps SID/STARS/Enroute, but at the airport with a taxi map this is very evident, again making the map not move just the aircraft travel around the map make a lot of difference just need to move the map a little by yourself if you want to zoom in too much and aircraft approaches edge of map view. My system is 10850K, 3080, 32GB Ram so I wouldn't blame bad PC, but yeah big difference when turning off the "move map" option just let the aircraft move keep map stationary and adjust it as needed. Thanks Andy

Yes you have a good spec. Not sure why as its a problem. Works OK on my PC and I guess a majority of users.

Yeah, I can confirm. It's the same problem.
I posted the same issue and I got the same rude answer from the developer. "It works for me, don't know how to fix it".
The problem is clearly a software problem, and not a hardware one. I also have good pc specs, and I was told my pc is to blame. Yeah right.
He doesn't know how to fix it and he doesn't care.
I think he forgot to be nice with people, because "Please be nice" does not seem to be his motto.

Can you tell me, are you using the new DirectX 12 or 11 please?

Sorry if you feel I was rude, probably had to screaming the kids in the background. I got a lot of people to test, review the software and these are the first reports of a problem. With regards to the moving map.
The SIM EFB program quite simply displays a web page in FS2020, and then JavaScript in the background asks the main program for current location data. The main program in turn gets your current location from FS2020, using Sim Connect, and relays the info back to the javascript, using separate threads so not to cause any delay.
I use the Leaflet JavaScript library to display and manage the map. Indeed all other addons similar to Sim EFB use the same library.
Solution
It would be possible to decrease the frequency of map updates to reduce the problem in a future build of Sim EFB
For now edit: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\simEFBmanager\resources\assets\streetMap.html Scroll to the last few lines: var int = self.setInterval(function () { getDataFromServer() }, 1000); Change the 1000 to 5000 to make an update every 5 seconds, or longer

Hello and good evening!
At last a more "profound" and humanly answer. Thank you for your involment and time to test and review the software.
The DirectX version I'm using is DX11.
I also tested the game with DX12 , and it seems to be limited at exactly 30FPS.
Later testing and edit: One of the low FPS troubles (but not the stuttering each time the maps moves) , seems to be the V-Sync option activated in the menu. Once I deactivate this option, the frame-rate of the game just boosts up.
Also, I tried testing the moving map with the lowest graphics settings of the game and the same result : it stutters each time the map is getting updated (moves) , and the "error" in Dev mode appears : Limited by Coherent GT UI thread !
As I digged deeper about this "Coherent GT UI thread" problem it seems is that the game itself is the issue as others are reporting as well frame-rate dropping and stuttering when using other UI pannels. So indeed it may not be the SimEFB software, but the third party UI system by Coherent.
Also I said before, the OpenStreet moving map is working very good even when "moving" !
Maybe is there a way to make the "grabbed" image map to use the same architecture as the OpenStreet map ?? Just asking, I'm not into software development myself and I don't know if this could be possible.
Also if you do intend to research or dig deeper into this issue, I can share my PC via TeamViewer if you are not able to replicate the problem there.
Thank you again and I hope you have a great time.

I just wanted to make clear that I do not have an issue with maps of large scale like STAR CHARTS for example, general maps that cover large area. Small area maps, such as one for TAXI. That is where the problem is evident as this map has to move a lot and very frequently as you taxi your aircraft. alien5345 see if your problem goes away when you TURN OFF "Map follow plain" (red airplane icon means ON, must be gray for OFF) option, mine goes away, map is still a moving map only now aircraft will move around the map and the map will remain stationary. That solves my problem. Sam, maybe we could have option to not automatically turn on the "Map follow plain option", because it turns on automatically as I shift between maps. Again same as alien5345 I have no issue with the large maps including my grabs or image imports, only when map covers small area such as airport taxi map and only if "Map follow plain "is turned ON. Lastly may I suggest testing with an aircraft that will likely put some strain on your pc like a FBW A320 not them Cessna or other low poly aircraft. Thanks

V1.17 FPS Issues - Added a slider to Publish Settings tab, to reduce Map/Chart animation affecting some users FPS You now have 4 settings that reduce the Map or Chart animation when updating position. These can be adjusted during game to test results without the need to publish Upgrade: sim-efb.com/dev/upgrade152626162

OK, I was able to test it and yes it does help, it is pretty much the same effect when I turn off the "Follow Plain in Map/Chart" which btw you should rename to "Airplane" or "plane" Keep in mind video looks a lot worst then what it really is like in game play. Just the way VR records. It is does not stutter as it looks lol. youtu.be/g8HS7Ng4r5ogood 00:00 Minimum bad 02:20 Max good 04:40 Minimum again good 07:15 Disable Follow AIRPLANE in map/chart "OFF" bad 10:00 Max again good 11:50 Max and Follow AIRPLANE in map/chart "OFF" good 14:00 Min and Follow AIRPLANE in map/chart "OFF" good 15:50 Turn all Sim EFB windows off bad 17:45 Max and Follow AIRPLANE in map/chart "ON" good 18:40 Change to world map Max and Follow AIRPLANE in map/chart "ON" 22:00 changing to chart back enable/disable "Follow airplane on map" bottom line putting the line you added to Minimum is pretty much the same as turning OFF "Follow airplane in map/chart"
