Got EFB a few weeks ago and it installed first time and operated perfectly, I was very impressed with it. I needed to change hard drives on my computer and therefore installed Windows 10 and Flightsim 2020 from fresh. Trying to install EFB the installation process fails every time with the message (see attachments) The install process looks like it finished by every time i start it i get the same error message. Looked over the forum and nothing i try works. Downloaded various different versions - Nothing Downloaded and installed the SDK from flighsim - Nothing. Can you give me some indication of how to fix this, as it is it is usless for me and i am considering asking for a refund from justflight.com for this Attachments:

It cant create the simconnect.dll for some reason. Odd as it should be installed and registered by MS2020.
Try running sim efb as admin. Turn off virus checker to see if it is stopping the connection.

OK, wiped the drive and tried again.
Fresh install of Windows 10 pro. Windows Updates downloaded so it is fully up to date. Download X Box App Download and Install Flight Sim 2020.
Attempt install Sim EFB and get exactly the same error. WTF, cant believe I am the only person this has happened too.

Ok, finally got to the bottom of the problem. After the steps above I tried both Sim EFB and a flight recorder program that both try and connect to MSFS2020 using sim connect, both were not working as they said they could not connect via Sim Connect. I downloaded the SDK and tried to run some of the EXE's that were included within the SDK, they complained about missing DLL's, searched these down and it seems they get installed as part of a VC_redist install. Searched down the vc_redist.x65 and downloaded this from Microsoft's site. It seemed to need at lead the > version 14, you can get the redist from this page docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170. Once that was installed both the Sim EFB and the flight recorder program started working properly. Think there needs to be comments put into the installation instructions or the install process changed to flag up its missing and how to get and install it. Spent too many hours chasing this down, what a PITA. Also, beware of when downloading the SDK from within MSFS2020, unless you have IE6 set as the default browser, the download popup screen will never pop, yet another PITA that just should not happen.
